Advice on First-Time Solo Trip to Europe

Hi all,

I've been lurking for a few months, and after using this sub as inspiration, I've decided to do a solo trip (made an account to ask for advice and suggestions on my itinerary). I like the idea of freedom while traveling solo.

I'm a 21M American and planning on doing a trip from mid-May to mid-June. During the day, I'm definitely more interested in exploring a city (local food, beer, sites, etc...) than doing natural excursions. I also like learning about a culture's history, either through visiting museums or sites, so any suggestions would be great. As an example, visiting Ephesus has been one of my favorites. I'm also not particularly interested in art or architecture, except from the Renaissance period. During the night, I'm going to stay at hostels and utilize those to go to bars or wherever. I haven't set exact dates but tentatively here's my itinerary with excursions and sites I'm interested in.

5/18 - 5/21, 3 nights, Vienna

5/21 - 5/25, 4 nights, Krakow (Auschwitz, Salt Mines, Schindler's Factory)

5/25 - 5/30, 5 nights, Prague (Kutna Hora)

5/30 - 6/4, 5 nights, Budapest

6/4, 1 night, Rome (Just going to use this as a relax/travel day and spend the night before going to Naples early the next day)

6/5 - 6/6, 1 night, Naples (Pompeii)

6/6 - 6/9, 3 night, Florence (Day trip to Pisa)

6/9 - 6/14, 5 night, Rome (Vatican, Colosseum, Forum, Pantheon, etc...)

6/15 - 6/18, 4 night, Lisbon (Portugal vs. Spain match at a local bar, wine tasting)

6/18 - 6/24, 6 night, Berlin (Berlin Wall, Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate)

6/24 Home

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Also, I want to maintain some flexibility such that I can stay longer if I really enjoy a city. Anyone have any suggestions on how to best do that? I tried it last year on a trip through Europe with some friends, and there were drawback in that there were times where accommodations were less than ideal. Thanks.
