22 Year Old First Time Traveller Seeking Advice
Hello everyone,
I'm currently a 22 year old male looking to plan a solo trip for approximately 3-6 months around September time. I've interrailed around Europe after sixth form and travelled around the world with family all my life. However, I'm looking to go away alone for the first time for a prolonged period and was hoping someone could give me some advice on how to go about it.
I've always wanted to visit South America but worry about the safety of doing it alone and consequently am more likely to end up doing South East Asia, predominantly Vietnam, Bali and Cambodia. For people that have gone before what would you recommend in these locations, and also how would you normally go about organising the trip? I like the idea of booking a flight out, a flight home, a hostel for the first night and a rough idea of places I want to visit during my time away. Where I end up ultimately I want to depend on who I meet e.t.c. Is this realistic?
Obviously, the thought of doing this is quite nerve wracking so any advice on places, travelling tips and just generally planning would go a long way to easing my nerves.
