Ways to find passenger/drivers for N American tour?
I solo travelled around the world long ago, right after college. It changed my life for the better. Now nearing retirement, I'm thinking of heading off for 3-4 months driving around the US and Canada, bombing from the mid-Atlantic east coast to Colorado, spending most of the time going up the Rockies to Banff/Jasper, and then down the west coast. Back eventually on unplanned schedule along the southern US border. Truck camping mostly. I want to do this while I'm still fit enough to enjoy the hikes. My past was in outdoor adventure sports, lots of backcountry time, all over the world. But I'm not the outdoors hardass I once was. I also can now afford nice meals and beds, on occasion. My question is where I might go these days to find people looking for long distance rides who are simpatico, willing to help drive on occasion in exchange for free mobility. All my local friends today are too settled to be willing to drop things and hit the road for a largely open itinerary. There must be websites, apps, subreddits or other ways that people looking for rides these days meet people with space in their vehicles and have a way to check each other out first?
