Suggestions on Eastern Europe locations and Transport
So after a lot of thought for the last few weeks and a few beers last night, I pulled the trigger and bought my plane tickets for a 2 and a half month trip, most of which is gonna be spent exploring Eastern Europe. Last year i did a shorter tour up and down Western Europe with a buddy and had a blast. And now I’m really excited to have a longer trip where I move at my own.pace.
I’m gonna list my places of interest in my planned order of travel and what I’m really looking for are suggestions of cool spots that would be good to ‘pit-stop’ in to break up the travel. I’m trying to avoid super long train/bus rides this time and flights when possible. Also if you see somewhere I’ve listed that sucks please let me know and suggest something better in the general area. If my itinerary is also really stupidly designed feel free to tell me that, I won’t be offfended :)
Start: Dublin, flight-> Oslo->Stockholm->Copenhagen flight?-> Warsaw-> Krakow-> Bratislava-> Vienna -> Zagreb/Croatian coast -> Budapest -> Belgrade -> Sarajevo ->somewhere in Montenegro or Albania ->Thessaloniki ~> Sofia -> Varna -> Constantas -> Bucharest, flight -> Kiev
So yeah go ahead and rio me and my noob ass part, please learn me. I’m absolutely willing to drop a bigger city in favor of something more off the beaten trail for sure. Also are Eurail even worth it for Eastern Europe. It seems like many of the buses are $25 each, and it seems like It’d be cheaper to do that than buy an $800 pass.
Anyway, thank you guys for reading and teaching me the ways of Eastern Europe. Happy travels all :)
