Seeking advice- US road trip 10 weeks
Hey, just hoping to get insight from anybody on the journey we are taking this summer.
We are flying in and out of Chicago mid June and late August respectively, family have offered us a car for the duration.
We are working on a relatively budget and are hoping to camp in national parks or stay in hostels to keep costs down as much as possible.
With this time frame we had hoped to catch both coasts, heading down to Florida and through southern states westwards to LA and return through more central areas. Supposedly this is approximately 7,000 miles.
The trip is loosely planned in terms of our time there ( specifying how far we need to be at certain times to make the trip).
Wondering if this is too far to drive in this amount of time. We considered cutting it shorter by not visiting the west coast and spending less time driving.
Also, we’re very flexible with the route, and would be grateful for any suggestions outside the main popular tourist attractions worth visiting. There’s a chance we will be passing by many places and can change the route accordingly, aside from the northwest which would be impractical due to extra driving.
Thanks for reading!
