One month solo road trip Boston -> SF
I'm moving from Boston to San Francisco and want to bring my car, so seemed like a perfect time for a road trip across the country. I'm tentatively planning to use the whole month of August so that I have a lot of time to see things.
I've never done a long road trip before, let alone by myself (early twenties female), so a little nervous about that. Originally was planning to go with a friend but she had to cancel and I still want to go. Because of this, I think I'll mostly be staying in hotels / airbnb, but maybe some camping.
Looking for advice on a solo, first-time road trip. Thinking of taking advantage of ranger-led activities in national parks and potentially even booking 1-3 day tours in some places to not get too lonely.
Also looking for advice on the route. Currently thinking Boston -> Niagara Falls -> visit people in Michigan -> Badlands -> Yellowstone -> south to Utah NPs and Grand Canyon -> SF (with most time spent in Yellowstone and UT / Grand Canyon areas). Also considering a different route down the east coast (along the coast) and then through New Orleans, Texas, NM, then the same UT NPs and skipping Yellowstone. Looking for thoughts on those routes. Partially leaning northern since I think the southern one would be too hot in August.
Thanks in advance for advice!
