Not sure which was to go around SE Asia, can anyone offer advice?
Hi guys,
I will be travelling around South East Asia from the UK from July - Nov this year, before ending up in Australia for the 2 year work visa.
I am having a little dilemma in regards to the weather in SE Asia at this time. I will be doing this trip at this time no matter what so i cant just wait until next year.
So I have booked all the way from the UK to Japan (2 weeks) and then my flight from Japan to Bangkok. My original plan was as follow:
- Bangkok & Pattaya -> Nothern Thailand (Chaing Mai Ect.)
- Northern Thailand -> Laos (Huay Xai)
- Travel for a week and a half down the river to Vientiane
- Fly to Vietnam (Hanoi) for 21 days and travel down the coast to Hoi Chi Min
- In to Cambodia for 12 days before flying back to Thailand for another 28 days
- The final 28 days will be spent travelling around the Islands of Southern Thailand, and completing a Diving course for a week on Ko Tao.
I'm aware this is the rainy season in some places. Because of this I'm thinking of doing the whole trip backwards (starting in southern Thailand, on to Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Nothern Thailand in that order). If the trip were to start in August (Bangkok) and finish in November which way would you go around?
Sorry for the long post, and any input whatsoever is massively appreciated, as i need to start booking and am flip flopping on which way to go!
