Looking for a backpack recommendation that meets a bunch of criteria (listed in body) - I know questions like this have been asked before, but I promise that this one is different!
OK, so my most important considerations are:
- Affordable (under $200)
- enough space for a multimonth-yearlong trip. My next trip is just a couple months in India, but I plan on doing a much longer trip after that
- enough space to fit clothes for both warm and cold weather
- room to fit a daypack
- despite points 2-4, not too big (i.e. can be a carry-on on most airlines)
So based on all the above, I'm leaning towards the Porter 46. I know that it's been recommended a lot on this sub, but I'm worried that it's ideal for shorter trips in one climate zone, not longer trips in diverse climate zones. Any thoughts on this?
Also, I'm completely uneducated about daypacks. On my backpacking trips so far, I've always had to carry it separately, but that gets super annoying, so I'd rather get one that I can fit in my 46L (or whatever size I end up getting) bag. Am I being too ambitious here? And if not, any recommendations??
Thanks so much! <3
