Long term solo travel & making friends.
I'm in the position where I'll be hitting up SE Asia (and India, and maybe China/Taiwan) for about 10 months. I've been to Thailand and Beijing before on a 7 week trip, and I loved that and found no issue with it. I loved meeting new people in hostels.
It didn't really bother me saying bye to them people as ultimately I knew I had to come home soon or move onto my next destination as I didn't have that much time. But on a longer trip when you're in no rush, I imagine if you're constantly meeting new people and saying bye to them within a day or two, especially over the course of a year, it might wear you down a bit - particularly if its the same conversation topics and whatnot. Did anyone feel like this?
I really have no plan for countries I'll end up in at what date, aside from flying into Bangkok (and I defo want to check out Myanmar at one point), so maybe I could find another longer term travel person and end up on a similar route. Has anyone had any experience of this?
Thanks!
