If anyone is considering booking a ride from FlixBus please read this before you do.
Yesterday I noticed I was only refunded 13,80€ for a ride I cancelled (1 week prior to departure) worth 44€. Upon contacting them, this is what they said (see the screenshot here).
I was ever only in contact with Flixbus.com, this is where I also purchased my tickets. So now for some reason I get contacted by Flixbus.de saying they can't refund me because my ride wasn't operated by the german Flixbus but rather French.
Again, I was buying the tickets from Flixbus.com, I was never let known which Flixbus will operate my ride nor could I have any control over it nor do I understand why that would ever matter.
This is like me ordering a faulty product from Amazon.com and upon returning the item get contacted by Amazon.de and them saying they can't do anything and won't admit the warranty because I haven't ordered from Amazon.de. Uhm what?
To conclude:
Flixbus will, simply put, scam you if you will ever need to cancel your ride. They will never honor it.
They even voided the 44€ voucher I had. A+ service.
Never again, and hope you never will either. Do yourself a favour and choose a different transport.
