How do you deal with the anxiety of a language barrier?
I'm currently living in eastern Europe and will be doing a lot of solo travel in the next year. My only frustration and anxiety thus far is the language barrier. I find myself relying heavily on not being alone so I don't have to run into many issues with ordering or getting around with the language. I'm trying my best to pick up as much of the language I can, and in no way expect to be spoken to in English. How do you all learn enough to get around confidently? How do you properly express to locals that you don't expect to be catered to? Thank you so much for your help with this.
