Guilty for traveling without boyfriend?
Hey all!
I've been planning a trip for this summer, 3 months with the majority in Guatemala and 1.5 week in Belize. I am so excited, and life-wise this is the only time for the next 3 years that I would be able to take this trip.
In the beginning my boyfriend had planned on coming with me, however as time went on, we've come to realize he won't be able to go. He will be saving money to start law school in the fall. Now... I'm feeling guilty for going without him. Not because I wouldn't enjoy myself as much - I've solo traveled to Mexico before, and had a great time - but because he can't go for a reason that isn't a choice.
Do any of you have significant others who would go with you, but can't? What are you all's thoughts about leaving them behind?
NOTE: He is not mad at me for still going and is very supportive and excited for me of my plans. But there is still a very clear feeling of sadness that he can't go with me.
