First solo trip: Vancouver, BC?
Hi everyone, I'm really wanting to travel solo for the first time ever this summer, and I think I'm focusing on Vancouver as the place to go. I've never travelled on my own before, and even when I have it's only been to major cities which aren't too different. What I'm looking for are suggestions or pieces of advice you'd like to offer me prior to me purchasing my ticket. I'm from Toronto, and so I want to start my solo adventures somewhere small and still somewhat near home. I'm a mid-20s female and have never lived away from home so am extremely nervous/scared to actually do this, but I really want to! I'm only able to travel in July/August and would prefer to keep mid July/end of August free from travelling. (After looking at flights, early July seems to be the best option :))
Details: - Approx. 10 days - $2,000 available (incl. accommodations) - Mainly vegetarian diet (eat meat but only specific kind) - Nerves/Scared - Sociable - Adaptable - INTO: exploring, adventures, nature, city - NOT into: sitting on a beach for 7 days, herded around in big groups visiting museums P.S. I don't drink and don't really know how to swim soooo... what suggestions do you have? (I'm still down to go out and enjoy myself though! :) ) Should I stick to Vancouver? Should I check out Victoria? Rest of B.C.? Help please! Also any suggestions as to where to stay would be appreciated too :)
