Expensive Cruz Del Sur bus missed due to cancelled flight - any advice?
Hi guys, I’m (19M) currently travelling around South America. I’m in Peru, at the moment specifically Iquitos, a remote jungle city. I had a flight booked to Lima on the evening of the 10th with Viva Air, and the next day an expensive ($110/£80) Cruz Del Sur bus booked all the way from Lima to Quito. Viva Air cancelled my flight at the last minute, and provided accomodation for the 2 day wait until the next one tonight (12th). Cruz Del Sur would not refund me as it was less than 48 hours before. My question is: are Viva Air liable to compensate me for this? I am on a budget and the bus ticket was already a heavy blow without having to pay it twice. I also have travel insurance but there is a £50 excess so only getting £30 back is not ideal. Any advice would be sorely appreciated.
