Critique My Itinerary: Thailand + Philippines

I've got all the flights and some of the accommodation booked for my upcoming trip in June to Thailand and the Philippines, yes I know it's rainy season, but it's still hot so I can work with that (I've already taken advantage of cheaper flights and plan to take advantage of cheaper everything else over there).

I'm a 22 year old British dude. Budget in total after flights and accommodation is £3000 (I'm hoping to get away with half of it, but I'm setting this aside as a safety netting).

Total days away is 22, I'll number them and the locations below, with a brief plan on what exactly I'm doing there, the location listed on the day number is where I will be sleeping that night:

  1. Land in Bangkok at 15:25 local time, take the train system to my hostel and check in, put my bag down, meet with a local friend and drink. I've been there before and didn't like the crowds too much (I've glad I've been though)
  2. Fly to Manila, why not straight there? It worked out nearly £300 cheaper to book return flights from home to Bangkok and return flights from Bangkok to Manila than it did for Home -> Thailand -> Philippines -> Home (and even more for if you swap places with Thailand and the Philippines) I'll be travelling straight up to Clark to meet a friend from there.

  3. Clark, but head to Subic in the evening where I will spend that night. (a bus journey that's not too long)

  4. Subic, a nice chilled out beach town that's not got too many tourists, calm before the storm of Manila in my own company

  5. Subic

  6. Manila - Checking out Rizal park and the nearby museums

  7. Manila - Friend from Clark will be meeting me again and we're gonna go up Mt Masungki in Rizal for a long day trip

  8. Manila - Crowd hating me trying desperately to find somewhere nice to relax - I say this half jokingly, I can handle it

  9. Chiang Mai via Bangkok

  10. Chiang Mai - a foodie paradise from the reviews I've heard, checking out the old city, going to Doi Suthep, checking out the nightlife and generally relaxing (I relax a lot)

  11. Chiang Mai

  12. Chiang Mai

  13. Chiang Mai

  14. A place in Thailand that if I mention some eyes will roll and all respect for this internet stranger will be lost. It'll be my base for a trip to Koh Larn which will either be a day trip or 2 nights. Rest of the trip will be in this location.

And then night 22 I'll be sleeping at home!

I'm aware that I've missed out Cebu and a lot of other nice places in the Philippines, Phuket, Krabi, and many nice Thai islands but I don't want to spend too much of my time away from work sitting at an airport or bus station.

So solo travellers what you think? I'd really like some insight into the activities/attractions I've mentioned, if they're a flop I'll be ok because I grew up in a cold rural area, so urban landscapes and hot beaches alone are enough for me to enjoy! (and mainly what I seek out)
