Bit the bullet (at last!)
Hey there fellow travelers! I know you lot get tons of these posts but I just had to share my excitement (and slight fear!) so I hope you don't mind my waffling on :)
I was diagnosed with Autism as a child and socially, that's always had an impact on me connecting with people and feeling like I 'belong' at something. Over the past 7 years (I'm 24) I've been doing a fair few trips (with my dad, GF, friend, etc.) and each time, I felt a bit more like I 'belong' travelling so to speak. Anytime I'm away from home, I seem to morph into a 'normal' person and be able to talk to strangers, have a joke and navigate my way around foreign as heck places. Over time, I've developed a small goal, to visit all 28 EU member states before I hit 28 years old. Luckily, I've been able to visit 23 so far, with just Estonia, Finland, Malta, Slovakia and Latvia to go!
Over the past two years I've had so many thoughts whilst lurking this sub, should I go here, should I go there and so on. Nearly did it last year with a trip to Luxembourg but my GF managed to get herself in on the action!
Well not anymore, I did it just like 30 minutes ago. Booked a flight to Tallinn, Estonia this October. Can't wait to see the old town, maybe pop over to Helsinki to see the lovely Finland. Who knows what I'll do, it's all on me now :-)
To all other people contemplating, do it. The rush I've got just from booking is worth it!
PS - If you have any tips for Estonia, leave them below! Love to hear any of your views. Thanks for all the stories, tips, tricks and more you all have on this sub. It's made me go for it!
