Aussie heading to Canada for 2 years on first solo trip.
Hey all,
Today I got my final acceptance letter for my work permit for Canada for two years! Absolutely stoked and this is going to be my first solo trip ever. I've done a decent amount of travelling already but never alone. I am planning on heading over to Canada in late May/early June so a little less than 3 months!
I'm 27 years old, male and have a few questions though from people that have done similar!
I want to aim to do 3-4 months in different places such as Vanc, Banff, Montreal, Toronto etc - and my only requirement is I need a safe place to stay as I'll be working remotely from my laptop as a web developer with my current job in Australia. I want to be snowboarding a fair bit also!
So how hard is it to find accomodation for only smaller time periods that aren't back packers or hostels etc? Are there any good sites or places to find this out?
I also am a bit of an introvert when it comes to meeting new people! I can usually get along with anyone and talk crap but the process of striking a conversation with randoms seems a tad scary! My plan was to sign up at local gym, head to bars, go to meetups, and other things but any other ideas?
