Are you expected to tip in Italy?
Not really solo travel as I am heading there with my partner in July. However it's the first time both of us have travelled without family etc and our first holiday together. We are from Scotland and over here there is not really an expectation to tip waiters/waitresses over here (we sometimes do) but I've heard over in America more particularly that many people if not all people tip their waiter/waitresses and I was wondering if it would be the same in Italy?
I just don't want to come across as rude for not tipping just because we are not used to it and didn't know how things worked in Italy tipping wise.
We are staying in Florence but will visit Venice and Rome during the day.
Any other tips would be grateful😀.
