Age of people you meet travelling SE Asia depending on the month it is?

This isn't really a concern or anything, more just something I'm wondering. I'm 21 and will happily be friends and enjoy meeting people regardless of age.

But I noticed when I stayed in hostels when I visited Thailand last June/July, particularly in hostels in Chiang Mai, that there were a lot (myself included) of Western 17-21 year old's in the hostel because they had broke up from uni/school for summer. I admit, I kinda liked the atmosphere because of that.

I'm going back to Asia (and Thailand) this July, but almost for a year this time. I'm wondering around October on-wards, does it feel like the crowd get matures or changes at all? I noticed when I visited Prague in December that it was for sure an older crowd, and perhaps that had something to do with people being in uni or school.

Just a thought I had haha.
