Advice on traveling to South Africa for first major solo trip.
Hello! So I am traveling on my first major solo trip to South Africa in July. It will be my first time there. I’ll be gone for a month exactly. The trip is a volunteer opportunity to assist with Great White Shark studies and environmental conservation. I am pretty much set, and excited, minus the last few details. Some general questions before I embark: 1. I am curious if anyone has ever traveled to South Africa before and if they can offer any advice on traveling there? 2. I am married so any advice and not seeing a significant other for that amount of time? 3. Any general advice for a trip of that length?
Some background info: I will be in Cape Town for 2 days but the rest of the time I will be in George, South Africa. I have traveled a lot in my life. Done minor (weekend) solo travels but first one while married. My husband and I have been married for 2 years, together 4 years. He is very supportive of me going and pushed me to go since he knew I would probably not get another opportunity like this since we are looking to start a family in a few years.
Thanks for any input!
