10 days in Belgium and the Netherlands
Hey guys! As the title says, I am planning on taking a trip to Amsterdam. I am 18 years old and am planning on leaving early in June, this will be my first solo trip, and second time to Europe. I’ve got a budget of about ~$2500- not including airfare. I’ve been looking on skyskanner and found a round trip ticket from Dallas to Amsterdam for $1,050. I was wondering if anybody had had any problems with these self-transfer tickets, and whether or not it might be easier to just spend a little more money. I am planning on spending 4 days in Amsterdam, 2 in Brussels & 1 in Ghent, and take the train to Cologne and spend 2 days there then head back to Amsterdam to fly out. Should I mainly stay in AirBnBs or Hostels? I’m not that concerned with meeting a bunch of new people, though it would be nice. Also i’d like to get some recommendations of where to go/ what to do. I am mainly just interested in absorbing the culture, I’m not huge on art museums, but I’ll definitely check out the Van Gogh museum. I like music, beer, food, sightseeing, trying new things, etc. Like I said this is my first solo trip, and the only trip where I’ve had to plan everything. I feel like I’m in way over my head, and any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: grammar
