Yellowstone Roadtrip Advice Needed

Me and 3 buddies are planning a roadtrip in late July/early August from Eastern Nebraska. We would start by driving to Rapid City, South Dakota. We would stay there for around 2 days. Then, we would go to Yellowstone and Grand Teton, and stay there for around 5 days. Next, we would go to Cheyenne, Wyoming, and hang around there for 2 days. Then we would return home.

Advice is needed for what would be nice to do at all these locations. Also, how much should we expect a trip like this to cost? We currently plan on 500$ each. Any other general advice would also be nice, as this is all of our's first roadtrip.
