What is the reliability of the "budget your trip" website?
So this is a question for those who have planned their trip financially and used budget your trip as a guide for financing their travel.
In currently looking at it, and I think in general it is a good website to get an overview. But I was just wondering what people's experiences are actually like when they compare their budget to the reality.
For example, I was looking at china, and I think for the whole duration the website was suggesting around 2.5k. (excluding airfare). I decided to actually delve a bit deeper to see the reality of all of this. I looked at train / bus/ flight prices for my itinerary, hostel prices etc. And it worked out significantly cheaper.
However, when I was looking at vietnam, prices were a little bit higher.
I understand that prices change rapidly, but I was just curious whether, overall, on long term trips, do you find budget your trip to be higher or lower than your reality??
