Two week trip in July - Japan or Hong Kong, Macau and Shanghai/Taipei
Help me choose!
Costs aren't a huge factor at the moment. I've done most of Europe over the past two years so I want to go Far East.
I'm aware that HK in July is effectively typhoon season whereas in Japan it's just hot and humid.
I'm really into modern history, architecture and food so both places are perfect in that aspect.
Another thing to consider is socialising and partying aspect. I've looked in both places are there is quite a lack or even in Tokyo, no party hostels?
I supppse the one advantage of Japan over HK is travelling would be through buses or trains rather than planes which can take a chunk out of my time.
Dates are 30th June to 14th July.
