Solo hike/pub/whiskey trip to Scotland in March. Anything to not miss?
Hey there r/solotravel, I JUST found out about this subreddit. I’m 32/m and going to be doing my first ever solo trip; a pretty flexible 14-day outdoorsy trip during the first half of March to England/Scotland. Land in London and will spend a night there, then drive north to spend the rest of my time in the rainy/snowy highlands and the Isles.
I’m definitely hitting Skye, Islay, Edinburgh, Inverness, Hadrian’s Wall, the Orkney Islands and hiking wherever looks fun/gorgeous in the highlands. I’m a geologist, so I’ll probably nerd out on some rocks too.
Do any of my fellow solo travelers have anything they’ve seen that they’d highly recommend or recommend avoiding?
Thanks for any advice and safe travels!
