Recommendations for taking advantage of fleeting flight benefits
I have standby flight benefits with a big american carrier (United) and live near a big United hub (ORD). I'm currently 24 and these benefits end once I turn 26 in late 2019.
Basically, I want to take full advantage of the benefits before I lose them considering domestic flights are free and international I only have to pay the taxes. Unfortunately I don't have a ton of PTO days so looking for any tips for weekend trips or 3-4 day itineraries that I could do solo either domestic or international.
I usually take 1-2 small trips a year with the benefits, but I feel that I could get so much more out of them and will regret it once they're gone! Right now I'm looking at taking a 4-5 day trip over Memorial Day weekend in late May. My last two solo trips were to South America so I definitely want to go somewhere new such as Northern Europe (Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark).
Any general advice of how I should best take advantage of these finite benefits would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
