Looking for a place to go for 5 days out of Lima, Peru on a short notice

Ill be visiting a friend in Peru for 2.5 weeks this summer. One of the weeks I’ll be in huaraz, backpacking and trekking. The other week my friend has a 50/50 chance of working. If she is not working, i will stay with her in Lima or on the beach.

However, if she is working I’ll have a week to go explore somewhere new.

-I won’t know until a week before so plane tickets are probably out of the question

-I’ve been to Cusco, Machu Picchu, and Arequipa before

-I’ll want to meet other tourists and stay in a cool hostel

-I don’t mind bus rides under about 10 hours

-in total id want to meet this at a budget of $40-50 a day INCLUDING travel to get to where I go

-I love to walk around cool cities and window shop, meet people, and eat. I’m up for going to a national park or other outdoorsy place but nothing too intense.

I am a total loss of where to go! Ica, pisco/paracas, and puno are the most obvious options, but I’m not sure if any of them stick out to me. (Any advice from people who have been to them?)

Usually I’ll read through this subreddit and read travel blogs and have a list of a million places to go to in a country, but it almost seems like besides the 5 huge tourist places (which I’ve seen already) there’s not much info on slightly less popular areas of Peru.

When I visited Chile I spent a week visiting pucon, chiloé, Valdivia, and puerto varas. I really liked that little week because it was relaxing but I met cool people and saw a lot. Im looking for that sort of thing again.
