July 18th I start a study abroad program in Berlin.

I plan on leaving the states about a week earlier to travel around Europe!! I’m completely clueless, any and all tips / suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It will be my first time out of the country and I want to do mostly touristy things.

Also, once I get to Berlin to study I will have long weekends with two being free, what could I do with a three maybe four day weekend either in Berlin or from Berlin?

Any travel tips are greatly appreciated, I have a lot of research to do but I wanted to ask the experts what they think first!! Thank you for your time.
