Hi,

I've been a lurker on this subreddit for the last couple of months and just want to thank everyone for the helpful information.

I'm going to Colombia for 3 weeks in May flying in and out of Bogota. This is my first solo travel so just asking a Little Advice.

Travelled to: Spain, Germany Croatia, India, USA, Netherlands, Jamaica, Antigua, Barbados, St Vincent, St Kitts, Grenada, Martinique, Guadeloupe, St Lucia.

Budget: Looking to bring £1000, interesting in doing maybe a couple of nice hotels/hostels but wouldn't mind Couchsurfing tbh.

Interests: - Food - Massive Interest of mine. I love trying new different foods and don't mind if it's homecooked, from a stall or a nice restaurant. Culture - I really like seeing others cultures and visiting museums, galleries, music and historical places. Art - Very interested in Art and Photography. I'm a fan of beaches also. Anything that gets me out of my comfort zone also.

I was thinking of visiting Medellin and Cartagena while I'm there. Just want some general solo travel tips and want to know how safe it is over there.
