First solo trip to Fiji for five days!
I'm planning a five-day stopover in Fiji on my way to NZ and want it to be relatively relaxing and beachy (don't want to do too many long bus/ferry rides or much time in city), and of course would like to keep this relatively inexpensive. Open to suggestions or additions to the plan!
Day 1: Get to hostel (I'm there all five nights, just outside Nadi), visit Sri Siva temple, grab a bite, socialize, explore Nadi
Day 2: Day trip to Suva then hit Sigatoka market on the way back
Day 3: Beach day at Malolo or other nearby island(s)?
Day 4: Water sport of some kind at Denarau
Day 5: Maybe visit Garden of Sleeping Giant or something else low-key?
For some context I enjoy outdoor activities, ethnic foods, a bit of nightlife, historical sights, wandering around, oddities, nature and animals.
Questions:
- Is doing both Suva and Sigatoka realistic time-wise or should I just pick one?
- Are the Yasawa (or other) islands significantly better than the closer islands like Malolo?
- Any tips or anything else I'm missing that you enjoyed?
Cheers!
