Cheap little town in Mexico to spend a month?
Heya guys :) I recently found out that flights from Oregon to Mexico are really really cheap right now (PV, Cancun, and Cabo are around $400rt) I'm going to be finishing up my work contract soon and would love to find a place to just chill for a month.
I'm hoping to find a cheap but nice little apartment somewhere and spend the month lounging on a beach, watching netflix, cooking dinners, and just wasting time (something I normally feel guilty about) I'm hoping to go the end of March/beginning of April and spending approx 30 nights. My dates are completely flexible though.
I've been looking at Puerto Vallarta on airbnb and unfortunately haven't found much interesting under $1500/month. I'm afraid that Cancun and Cabo are going to be to resort-y for my taste.
If I got exactly what I want, I'd be able to find a small 1 bedroom apartment with kitchen for under $1k/month. within a short walk to the beach and restaurants. Decent expat/tourist community in the vicinity would be nice (this isn't a cultural trip, I realize. I want an easy get-away) but would be awesome if there were other things to do in the surrounding areas after I'm sunburned to a crisp and no longer want to lay on a beach....
Does my dream place exist???
