Cell phone carriers (particularly EU) that will mail SIM card internationally?
Like many of you, I usually buy a SIM card when I get to a foreign destination for my cell phone needs. However, I recently learned about at least one carrier (GiffGaff in the UK) that will mail a SIM card internationally, offering a unique opportunity to compare cell phone plans across countries since roaming is free within the EU.
This got me wondering if there were any other carriers (particularly EU) that also mail SIM cards internationally so that I can possibly consider them as options instead of only being limited to the carriers within the country that I arrive in.
Also, does anyone have experience with using GiffGaff without starting in the UK? My understanding is that the free roaming doesn't turn on until you've spent at least some minimum amount of time in the UK to discourage people from buying one of their packages just to use it outside the UK. I'm going to Europe fairly soon and it's likely that I'll end up in the UK at some point, but I'm not totally sure that I'll start there.
