Best beach resorts in eastern Asia?
Lots of suggestions for good beaches come from South East Asia, but I hear very little of beach resorts in places like China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan etc.
My perfect beach is one that's got great sand, ideally some waves for bodysurfing, with a decent nightlife or if not able to have a few drinks on the beach. Somewhere with people but not overcrowded is also nice (don't want a beach all to myself, or to be sitting on someone's lap).
Are there any places out there that meet the above, most seem to be too quiet or too crowded and have pretty ordinary sand. I'm from Australia so constantly compare to that but have so far came up short.
