Advice please!
Hello! Long time lurker here! I'm seeking advice or opinions. I'm in a very happy long term relationship (2.5 years) but he does not enjoy travel as much as I do. It is difficult to get him to want to go on vacation at all (literally like pulling teeth). He prefers stay-cations. I've suggested multiple times that if he doesn't want to go that I don't mind going alone however he has said multiple times that we would need to re-evaluate where we stood and what the heck we were even doing if I started going on trips without him.
Obviously, I really want this relationship to work. We're very happy together and have been living together for a while as well. So I've sort of resigned myself to just pestering him to vacation with me instead since I value the relationship. I've made it a point to tell him that if he doesn't want me to go on vacation without him then he needs to be more willing to travel with me. However, it doesn't seem to happen. We have gone on one 3 day trip to Las Vegas together but that was more for him than for me since that was one of the only places he wanted to go.
I've considered that maybe it's an issue of cost so I've recently decided to try churning with rewards credit cards to lessen the cost burden. However, he isn't quite on board with that either so all rewards cards efforts will be left completely up to me.
I guess I'm just looking for an outsider's view as to what other options I might have to satisfy my travel bug without damaging my relationship. Thanks in advance!
