18M and I'm ready to leave, but where to?
Hi!
I am an 18 year old male who wants to give solo travel a go. I got 2000 dollars to my name and will have around 3500 come summer time. I have wanted to travel since I was like 12, and I got to visit the UK when I was 16. I graduate highschool in like 3 months and I have never been more ready. I am ready to go, but I don't know where. I am thinking Europe since first time (am American) specifically eastern Europe so my money can carry me further. I have heard people say it's good to have a buffer country so you can get calibrated for a first trip. Somewhere that has a lot of English speakers. Part of me just wants to yell fuck it and jump right in to Eastern Europe.
Anyway, I would appreciate some suggestions on where to go with the budget and how long I could while living moderately comfortable. Just hostels and like 1-2 meals a day, nothing fancy. I'm more interested in it for meeting some people abroad. I would appreciate any help. Thank you!
