Would like to plan a hike through the entire Pacific Crest Trail.
Hi all!
So on the top of my bucket list, I would really like to hike the entirety of the Pacific Crest Trail. I am a 24 year old in decent shape, and with minimal prior hiking experience. I’ve recent read the novel Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer, and have developed a huge fascination with nature, and the process of self discovery while experiencing the world in it’s natural state.
Now, I do know that this is a massive undertaking, and requires a lot of previous experience in order to take on. And unlike Chris McCandless, I do intend to be well prepared for this trip. So what I guess I am wondering here is what can/should I do beforehand in order to prep for this trip? And in regards to the actual trip itself, what should I do beforehand to be ready for it (such as pre-shipped supplies to specific locations, supplies brought along with me, how much supplies should I carry on me on a daily basis, etc)?
