Will (hopefully) be in and around Jaco, Costa Rica the 14th-21st! Would love tips and suggestions
Well. I live in the US and right now the government is shut down. I actually don’t have my passport yet due to financial reasons. I went to apply on Friday and the office was closing early and their photo printer wasn’t working either. I plan to call later today and see if I will be able to apply today, but I’ll probably have to wait until the shut down is over. If it’s not soon, I won’t get my passport in time :/
Nevertheless, I’ve been really excited and have been trying to research.
Myself, a friend and a big group of his friends I haven’t met will be staying at the Hermosa Wave Resort in (Playa?) Hermosa, very close to Jaco. There will be a festival going on for 3 of those days called Bamboo Bass Festival. I don’t really care whether I go to this or not. Some of my friend’s friends are playing there so we will likely be going. But in the mean time, we will have lots of time for other activities. I already know we plan on spending lots of time at the beaches and surrounding nature areas. We are party people so there will be plenty of that as well.
Are there any must see places or must do activities in and around Jaco? We are all under age 26 or so and most of us probably can’t afford this. But hey, you only live once and I think it’s a crime not to explore the earth if you can. Any cheap but worthwhile suggestions are most welcome!
We would also love to volunteer somewhere, preferably an animal sanctuary or something but anywhere we can help people out for a day or two would be nice too!
