Venice and Milan - 9 days or some other city pair?
Last year I took a 9 day trip to Budapest, Vienna, and Prague. I split the time equally between the three. One thing I learned is that by the time I got to Prague... I was kind of traveled out.
So this year, I'm thinking the same time, but two cities and use the extra time to do day trips to see smaller towns/places. Where I really just spent time in each city last year.
I liked Budapest alot and Prague was good, but I didn't like Vienna too much.
Based of that tiny bit of info, would Venice and Milan seem like a good next trip?
I've also been considering: Malta (would probably spend the whole time here... not sure what to pair with it) Bucharest and Constanța -- though I'd want to go east too and see Bran castle Amsterdam and Brussels
The basic criteria for city pair is train ride of say less than 4 hours between them.
Other random details: My trip is for the last week of May. Solo, 40's male who doesn't do the hostel thing.
Mostly into seeing the arhciteture, trying foods, and will do the "usual" touristy stuff
