Bangladesh: Solo travel for first time? Solo travel for first time? - Bangladesh

Solo travel for first time?

I've never solo traveled before and I think I should do it as I have a lot of time on my hands. But I have no idea where to start. I'm from the UK, early 20's and I've only been abroad 3 times before - New York, France and Amsterdam. I find the thought of solo travelling pretty daunting which is why I think it's probably a good idea.

I'd love to go to Mexico or South Africa (I have no idea why) but realistically I can only afford Europe. I have no idea where to go, how to plan, what to even do when I'm alone.

Any advice on where to go? Somewhere where it's cheap, easy to meet and talk to people/make friends, and do cool shit so I can look back and think "at that time I was living life" - my life's been pretty boring so far.

How do I plan this? I don't even know where to start - off the top of my head, Paris and Barcelona I've heard are good. I want to see sights, art, meet people, do whatever solo travellers do (what do they do?) I've also thought of Morocco, but that's out of my comfort zone at least for a first timer. I'm free from pretty much now until Autumn, and my budget is maybe around £500? for a week? Again these are complete guesses, I have no idea how much this shit costs. Hiking/Camping/Interrailing all that stuff doesn't interest me. More into culture, history, art and meeting different people.

I've never done anything like this before and to be honest I'm pretty socially anxious which I feel like is another barrier to overcome lol. Any advice?

(Btw I can see the rules say don't be general, but this is completely new to me and I'm open to any ideas, especially from those who can relate to me.)
