Short (elderly) father-daughter destination days from Chicago?
I've been out of the country for a few years and I would really love to take my father somewhere this summer so we can catch up. We would have less than a week, departing from the Chicago suburbs.
He loves American history and National parks. He's very active, but he's 75 so we can't plan any rock climbing etc.
So far I've thought of St. Louis. We could do a baseball game or the Arch. (Plus I heard there's a ranch dressing-centered restaurant there and ranch doesn't exist in Asia).
Living abroad reminded me how much there is to see in America, and how little I know about it, so any suggestions would be great!
