Question regarding proof of onward travel
Hello r/solotravel!
I'll be starting a six week trip to Southeast Asia in a few days and from what I've read, proof of onward travel may be needed in my case. Any input is greatly appreciated!
From the States, I'm flying into Hong Kong for a night of rest before an Air Asia flight to Bangkok the following day. At this point, my plans are very open ended.
I may end up just traveling around Thailand during this time, and extend my 30 day travel visa if need be. Or I may end up in Laos or Cambodia for a bit, who knows..
Essentially, I only have a one-way ticket to Hong Kong, a one-way ticket to Bangkok, and a one-way ticket back to the US 6 weeks later (from Hong Kong).
Without any other flights booked, would it be wise to get a cheap (possibly refundable) flight out of Thailand before the 30 day visa expires? Would this prevent any chance of Air Asia not letting me board from Hong Kong to Bangkok?
