Offbeat/Unique/Haunted places for cross-country roadtrip?
Hi all! I don't really use this site so if this has been asked before, I apologize. My emotional support dog and myself are going on a lengthy cross-country USA trip whilst mostly living out of my car / camping, with hostels and airbnb's every now and then. We are currently located in NC and leaving in February, taking the southern route south and out west. I plan on hitting SC, GA, FL, AL, MS, LA, TX, OK, NM, AZ, UT, NV, CA, OR, and WA first. I have a few jobs lined up in Oregon to make enough money to come back to NC through the northern route since it'll be Summer.
What places are dog friendly that aren't your typical tourist traps? From mostly everything I've read, since she's a registered emotional support dog, we shouldn't have an issue anywhere, but I've also read instances of people being denied access to certain places because of the breed. She's a pitbull mix and the sweetest thing in the world so I hope it won't be a problem! We love hiking, camping, nature in general, haunted/spooky/abandoned sites, horror and oddities, and COFFEE. Any recommendations would be amazing!
