Need feedback on Germany/Austria Alps Itinerary
Hi all,
I am planning a solo trip to Bavaria and Austria for some hiking, fresh air, and beautiful views. Can you all please see my itinerary below? I'm flying from DC to Munich and making a loop. I been to Munich before so I won't be staying long there.
-May 19 (12 days)
-DC to Munich
-Munich 2 nights
-Salzburg 2 nights
-Hallstatt 2 nights
-Berchesgaden (eagles nest worth it?) 2 nights
-Innsbruck 2 nights
-Mittenwald 2 nights
-Munich fly back to states
I figured these towns aren't that far from each other so i won't be stuck on a train all day.
I estimated the transportation cost to be $600USD. I see US to Munich flights constantly on sale so possibly $500USD.
Room & Board estimated to be around $1200
Metro Tickets/tours $150
$250 for food.
Aiming for under $2500 budget. I do enjoy lite hikes and hot spas. Please recommend any gems. Also if theres anything worth skipping or shortening/lengthening.
Lately I been totally stressed out at work. I want some mental relaxation from family and career. There is a possibility that my brother or father will join me but for now, this is strictly solo. I done a similar loop around Frankfurt and it was a blast going through heidelberg, baden baden, and munich. Eating is also not a big deal. I can eat doner all day and pig roast/potatoes. I want to target the alps this time.
Thanks!
