Honeymoon Road Trip! Would love advice/recommendations!
Hi Everyone! I am lucky to be marrying my beautiful bride in June of 2018 and we plan to take a honeymoon immediately after. The two of us have decided to do a road trip towards the west/rockies and will be leaving from Madison, WI. Neither one of us has spent much time west of the Mississippi and can't wait to explore parts of the country that we haven't yet seen!
Where I am at a crossroads (hehe) is deciding between spending limited time at each place so we can see more vs. picking a couple of places and spending an extended time at each. We are planning on taking 10 days to two weeks for the trip and are initially eyeing a cluster of states (Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah) as our eventual destinations, while passing through several other states on the way.
Here is where I would love help from all of you amazing people:
- What unique/fun/interesting things should we do on our way to the destinations? As I mentioned we are planning on leaving from Madison, WI taking I-90W through Minnesota, South Dakota and eventually Wyoming/Montana.
- Are we better off spending a few days each at a few locations (e.g. Yellowstone, Zion, etc.) or limiting the time spent at each and jumping around to as many places as possible?
- Are there any fun accommodations we can stay in along the way? We are already looking to find a Yurt to stay in, but there have to be some unique AirBnBs or other fun places to stay.
Thanks so much for your help everyone!
