First timer, have some money, have lots of time, looking to take a month off away from NYC. Please help.

I'm at a point now where I want to go somewhere alone for about a month. I'm hoping this place is warm, inexpensive, helps me to maintain a healthy lifestyle, a bit culturally interesting, safe, with few snakes and a decent amount of English speakers. EDIT: For next month, February

I can speak a tiny bit of spanish, so I've been considering some south american countries / puerto rico/ mexico, but nothing I'm totally sold on yet.

Anybody have any ideas? I'm really hoping to recharge my batteries and fall in love with solo travel, while avoiding the coldest month of the year.
