First solo travel - Rent a motorcycle from Nicaragua to Costa Rica?

Hey all,

People do this in their 20s, but I'm preparing my first solo travel as I'm approaching 40! :D

This is the plan

Now, how do I get a motorcycle in Managua, NIC and leave it in San Jose, CRI?

Option 1: Buy a bike in Managua and sell it in San Jose

  • Is it possible for a foreigner to buy a bike in Nicaragua?
  • Can I cross the border with it?
  • Can I resell it in Costa Rica?
  • Can this be done "in advance"? I can't afford to spend 2 days looking for a motorcycle...

Option 2: Rent a motorcycle in Managua and drop it in San Jose

  • I see a lot of places that offer moto tours across both countries, but they all return to the departure city.
  • Any place you know that offers this? As cheap as possible?

Finally, I'm originally from a country where we haggle for everything. Should I do the same when renting the bikes, and generally for tours, accommodations in these 3 countries?
