Dealing With (sometimes self-imposed) Loneliness?
In two years I'll be going on a six month backpacking trip to Thailand (basic i know). I'll be eighteen, and I've never been on a trip by myself or even just with friends before. Even though I'm excited I'm afraid that I'll get there and just feel very out of place and alone, and the last thing i want to be doing is feeling sorry for myself while on the trip I've been looking forward to forever. I have close friends in my home city (is that a thing?) but i'm very introverted and I don't know if i'll fit in with other travelers, everyone seems so outgoing and confident. I'm learning thai and having a lot of fun with that, so i hope knowing the language will make it easier to socialize. If anyone, especially more introverted solo travelers has advice on making sure you're interacting with others and not just doing your own thing the entire time it would be much appreciated.
