Best place to start/finish a 1.5-2 month southeast asia trip?
I'm about to graduate in the spring and I want to go to SEA before I start into the working world. I think I'll have enough money for 6-8 weeks there in May/June. I tend to over plan trips so I'm trying to take a more hands-off approach. Buuuut I want to book flights soon and I can't really figure out where I should fly in/out of without planning the shit out of this trip . So far, Bangkok has come up as one of the cheapest routes, but I kind of feel like it is right in the middle of the places I may want to go. If anyone's done a similar trip and has some insight into good starting and ending points, I'd really love to hear it!
A bit of other background for interested readers: I'm a pretty active traveler and like to constantly be doing things, so I have a feeling I'll move relatively quickly. I still want to fully experience the places I go though. I'm mostly into doing hikes and cool activities, but not really into the partying every night thing. Maybe one or two nights here and there would be plenty. I've found I like smaller towns over huge cities. I've solo traveled before university in Europe, but have never been to Asia before. This is also by far the longest solo-travel-stint I've done! I'm honestly pretty introverted, but I'm hoping to push some of my boundaries with this trip and meet some interesting people.
