Scary moment in Lima (airport)
Hi,
I felt like sharing this story because even a year later.. it still bothers me.
It happened at the last day of my 2 month Ecuador/Peru trip. I flew from Cusco to Lima and would fly from Lima back home.
After arriving at Lima airport, I found out that I had to check in again at the main gate. I was in a little hurry because I only had one hour.
So I come from the exit and enter the main terminal. That is when a man with a nametag and a nice suit starts talking to me. He asks where I have to go. I tell him I need to check in at the KLM booth.
He then starts to try to convince me that I am in the wrong terminal and he points to a place across a road and parking place. Thats where I should have checked in. He seemed so convincing with his perfect english and nice clothes! And he was willing to walk me there!
However, I had been to Lima airport earlier and knew that there was nothing at that place.
I realised he was lieing and i told him i was getting the police. Then the man ran away.
Now this was the first time something like this happened to me. And I am way more careful when it comes to strangers now. But everytime I think of this I wonder...
What would have happened if I followed that guy away from the airport....
