Going to SEA next week. Some questions and advice./19m
So its my first time solotraveling and i want to be away for months dont know how long (7k$) will get me. I'm swedish so it translates roughly to about 7k$(already paid flight). This is my route so far, but i need to know what more.
Bangkok>Chiang Mai by train>Maybe chiang rai(i think i want to skip laos because it seems risky buisness with malaria there, and i will probably end up paranoid about every mosquito)>Bangkok and here i dont know if i want to go to vietnam first or cambodia. But maybe fly in to Sieam Reap then make my way to phneom penh and get my vietnam visa there before heading to vietnam (fly?) hoi chi minh city and then hanoi i think.
Is this a good route?
I also have zero clues about what hostels i should pick.
I'm not really sure about the visas. But i can stay in Thailand in 30 days and then if i fly to cambodia or laos it resets and i can come back for 30 days? Not sure if i can fly to vietnam and do this. How many times can i do this?
And what i'm most clueless about is my money. How do i exchange etc. Before flying how much should i exchange into baht and $? 100$ to pay for visas at arrival in different airports? And how much money should i take out each day? I just search for an atm and take out money?
How much money should i take out from atms and are they safe and easy to find? Obviously i dont want to use my bankcard buying things. Where to keep said money
Where to keep money,passport,bankcard etc safe? Do i walk around with copy of my passport and keep the real in hostel im staying at?
And do i keep my travel insurance on me or leave it in hostel im staying at? What happends if i need to get put in hospital and i dont have my insurance on me, do i like need go get it before they fix me up?
Maybe bring 4000baht and 100$ before leaving?
